Basic Structure of a High-Pressure Common Rail Fuel Injection System

A high-pressure common rail fuel injection system includes a fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel-water separator, high and low pressure fuel lines, high-pressure fuel pump, common rail assembly with pressure regulating valve, high-speed solenoid injectors, preheating device, and various sensors and electronic control units.

The low-pressure fuel supply section of the high-pressure common rail fuel injection system includes: a fuel tank (with filter, fuel level indicator, and fuel level alarm), fuel pump, fuel filter, low-pressure fuel lines, and return line; the high-pressure fuel supply section includes: a high-pressure fuel pump with pressure regulating valve, common rail assembly (with common rail pressure sensor), and solenoid injectors.
