Injector Solenoid Coil and Spool Valve

Inside the Gen II injector, the digitally controlled valve contains two coils: a normally open coil without energization and a normally closed coil without energization. The spool valve moves from side to side under electromagnetic force. The total clearance is 0.017 inches. When open, the valve allows oil to enter the injector from the high-pressure oil rail, pushing the pressure amplification piston and plunger downwards. When the spool valve is closed, it releases oil from inside the injector to the outside.
